Arlien Design started in 2013 as part of an internship-program while I was attending the University of North Dakota. The initial venture focused on public relations, graphic design, and website development. Within the first few clients, I noticed most of the work I enjoyed throughout the creative process was photography. I soon left Grand Forks, ND and moved back to Bismarck, ND.
As I settled back in Bismarck, I met up with old friends and discussed the possibilities of continuing this venture, solely focusing on photography. Over the next few years, my friends and community helped grow this company - lending their talents and contributing their own skills that complimented my skills. Together we have built a company to be proud of. There have been many contributors over the past decade. Most have left to focus on their own passions and careers, and some still contribute when they can.
In 2017, I purchased the North Dakota Prairie Bride Magazine, a two-year-old publication that originated in Hettinger, ND. The publication immediately expanded from only being distributed to the western side of the state to being distributed to all of North Dakota.
And now, the Photo Studio has become property. No longer my place, but our place – for the community and area photographers that have the time to utilize the space. I designed the space from scratch; the photography studio is large enough to accommodate any session, an office, a professional and comfortable meeting area, as well as display walls to showcase each artist who uses the space.
Now, I am shifting the focus. Focusing now – less on the career –and more on the life as a photographer and the joys that follow.
